Valpolicella Area

Amarone della Valpolicella D.O.C. Calesan

Grapes: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella

Production zone: The dark, clay soils of the hills around the villages of Mezzane and the Val d'Illasi.

Tasting notes: The colour is a lovely, deep garnet red. On the nose it shows characteristic ripe, red fruits and a balsamic note. The palate is warm and velvety, dry and very complex as a traditional style Amarone should be.

Vinification and aging: Selected grapes are dried under controlled conditions and then given a long maceration. Fining takes place in large oak casks. Passion and patience are the virtues that allow us to obtain the maximum flavour.

Alcohol: 15% vol.

Food pairing and serving temperature: At its best with game dishes and hearty red meat dishes. Excellent with mature cheeses. It should be decanted before serving in large balloon glasses at a temperature of 18°C.
