Collis

On the 26th June 2008, following up a long winemaking tradition, the consortium Collis - Veneto Wine Group was established, with its head office and administrative headquarters based in the town of Monteforte d'Alpone. 'COLLIS', the Latin word for 'hill', represents the ideal environment for quality wine production and reflects the common territorial denominator of the vineyards of two of the founding partners, the Cantina di Colognola ai Colli and the Cantine dei Colli Berici di Lonigo, Barbarano Vicentino e San Bonifacio. The third founding partner is CEVICO, an important consortium with head offices in Lugo di Romagna in the region of Emilia Romagna.

The two partners from the Veneto region have conferred all their assets relating to production into Collis, now the sole owner of the production facilities, including the vinification and storage plants, while the original wineries maintain their custody of the land and relations with the grape-growers, taking delivery of the grapes from their members and conferring them immediately into Collis, which is then responsible for the vinification and sale of the finished product.

The consortium unites two powerful and well-structured companies with important and established business partnerships with bottlers: the Cantina di Colognola ai Colli s.a.c. with Casa Vinicola Sartori S.p.A. and the Cantine dei Colli Berici di Lonigo, Barbarano Vicentino e San Bonifacio s.c.a. with Cielo e Terra S.p.A.. All existing agreements and share-holderships remain in force and, indeed, further consolidate the structure of Collis, which turns the collaboration to its benefit as a means of achieving ever greater results.

Also conferred into Collis is the joint share ownership of Cantine Riondo S.p.A., held 50% each by the founding partners, now the operative branch of the consortium on the market for bottled wine.
